Whoever Believes in Me

"Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father." (John 14:12)

We've all read and heard these words of the Master, but how many of us truly believe it?  Ever since John received his amazing miracle of healing in the midst of a heart attack, we've been sharing the story of God's miracle-working power in our day, but most are shaking their heads in disbelief. So, my time in the dental hygienist's chair getting my teeth cleaned yesterday was a most uplifting experience!

She was sharing with me about a woman in her church who was suffering from Stage IV breast cancer, present in both breasts as well as her lymph nodes.  This woman had been in all the usual types of medical treatment, but nothing had worked.  Her situation seemed utterly hopeless, and the prayer team at her church had been covering her with intense prayer, knowing ONLY God could heal her.  Lo and behold, He did!  At her last visit with her oncologist (who happened to be a Muslim) they did updated tests and scans, which showed no trace of the tumors or cancer cells.  The doctor was in shock looking at the scans, and asked the woman to excuse him for a few moments.  He left the room for a while and when he came back in, he had a gravely serious expression on his face.  He sat down right beside his patient, looked deep into her eyes and asked, "Can your God really do this?  You are completely healed of cancer.  Can He really do this?"  I am told the woman exploded with joy, telling him about our God, and she ran out to the car and got her Bible, which she gave to him.  "Read it," she told him, "and meet the God who healed me!"

I also got a call this week from a dear, long-time friend, who is going through the heavy stress of moving.  She is in her mid-80s and her husband is in full-time care for Alzheimer's.  She read my last blog about John's healing and her report was stunning: "John's testimony caused me to realize that I had prayed for a miracle healing of my legs, but I never really believed God would do it.  So, I stopped in the midst of my painful packing process and out loud I said to Him, 'I have not trusted You, Lord.  I have asked for healing, but I have not trusted You for it.  I do trust You now.  Thank You for healing my legs!'  Then in the quiet of my mind I heard the Spirit say, 'Start walking like you used to walk.'  Well, I haven't been able to walk normally for a long time, but I forced myself to take some steps with my legs in the right position and the pain was excruciating.  Nevertheless, I kept walking on into my kitchen, and when I got there, suddenly the pain completely left me and it has not returned!"

How awesome and how faithful is our God!  We really do believe we are soon going to be in the promised day of a Joel 2 outpouring of the Spirit, moving in signs and miracles.  Indeed, already I have these three incredible, encouraging stories to share with you, and I pray it blesses you and increases your faith to believe!

Mark 11:23:
“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.

Many blessings to all of you.  To those on the Eastern seaboard, you are in our prayers as you face this approaching storm. I do believe our righteous God is speaking to this nation and we are praying for His mercy and grace in the midst of it.

John and I are planning an extensive trip to the Southeast for much ministry in December.  Please consider going to our website at www.doorkeeperministries.com and giving a tax-deductible donation to help us stay on the road with the Gospel message of hope and truth; and please enjoy the slide show of our Feast of Tabernacles in the desert,  now on the home page.

Shabbat Shalom!
